Monkey Class

Monkey class is a Key Stage 1 class, with ten children, eight boys and two girls.  We are a very lively class who enjoy learning, playing and exploring inside and outside whatever the weather.

Communication is woven into all of our activities, supported with Makaton, symbols and photographs. We are working very hard on our independence, attention skills, turn taking and accepting when things have finished.

Stories are brought to life exploring with props that can be touched and explored, actions that can be copied, scents to smell and sounds to listen to. Our afternoons are very busy, this is when we complete our wider curriculum topic-based activities as well as playing together, with a range of toys that are set up inside and outside of the classroom.
