Oak Class
Oak Class are a group of 6 pupils in Year 7 to Year 10. There are three boys and three girls in the class. We have a classroom on the Secondary site in a modular building that we share with Sycamore Class.
In school we love art, Attention Bucket sessions, and music. We also love going outside on the trampoline and the swings, which helps to support our readiness for learning; you will find us outside whatever the weather!
We spend lots of time working on our communication skills. We learn to communicate with others by using our voice, PECS or Aided Language Boards, as well as to interact socially with our peers. We enjoy working on our maths skills in real-life situations, particularly when we do cooking. We also practise independence skills, like learning to wash up after cookery lessons and how to cross the road safely when we are out in the community.
We explore different texts through sensory stories and interactive experiences. This term we have be reading and writing about what people do all day. This term we have been looking at a local artist ‘Hendog’ and recreating his brick pictures.
For the first half of this term we have been going swimming at Romsey Rapids and are all getting very fast at getting ourself changed to be ready to swim.
